Born into the esteemed family of His Royal Highness, Pius Kadiri Ikanade Agba, the Oliola of Uzanu, Clement Agba’s educational journey began in St Vincent Primary School in Auchi. He later attended St. John’s Grammar School in Fugar and obtained his higher school certificate from Advanced College Igueben in 1982. Agba pursued his higher education at Bendel State University (now Ambrose Alli University), earning a B.Sc in Economics in 1985. He further enhanced his knowledge with two Masters Degrees in Business Administration, specializing in Management from the University of Benin, and Supply Chain Management from Arizona State University in the USA.
Professional Career and Achievements:
Agba’s professional career took off in the mid-1980s when he worked for Pegasus Industries and Super Engineering. His exceptional performance caught the attention of the Gulf Oil Company, which later transformed into Chevron Nigeria Limited. Agba’s expertise in shipping led to his secondment to Chevron Oil Corporation in Houston in 1996. He displayed brilliance, inventiveness, and charisma, earning accolades from his colleagues. In 2006, Agba was once again called upon to run a massive logistic chain at Chevroil Tengiz in Kazakhstan, where he led a team of over 1600 people. His professionalism, discipline, and commitment to excellence have earned him respect in various spheres of human endeavor.
Public Service and Contributions to Edo State:
Recognizing Agba’s immense talents and dedication to service, Governor Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole invited him to join the rescue team tasked with elevating Edo State’s political governance and development. Agba’s leadership qualities shone as he served as the Commissioner in the Edo State Ministry of Environment and Public Utilities from January 2009 to July 2010. During his tenure, he brought new energy and momentum to public governance. Agba later took on the role of Commissioner of Lands, Survey & Housing, initiating fundamental reforms and establishing the Edo State Geographic Information Services (EGIS). Currently, he holds the position of Commissioner for Environment & Public Utilities, and he also serves as a member of the Edo State Economic Team and Chairman of the Edo State Tenders Board from 2009 to 2012.
