JAMB Commences Registration For 2024/2025 UTME And DE Examinations

January 15, 2024

Lagos, Nigeria – The Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has officially begun the registration process for the 2024/2025 Universal Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) for candidates seeking admission into tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

During a recent meeting with media executives in Lagos State, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar of JAMB, assured interested candidates of a hassle-free registration process. Notably, UTME candidates are required to register before Direct Entry candidates.

The sale of Direct Entry application documents and E-PIN vending will commence on Wednesday, February 28, and conclude on Thursday, March 28, 2024. It is important to understand that the JAMB Direct Entry form is distinct from the UTME form, as it caters to candidates seeking admission into the first year of university programs.

To initiate the application process, candidates must visit JAMB offices for registration, as the forms are exclusively available at these locations. It is crucial to note that simultaneous applications for JAMB DE and UTME in the same year are not permissible. The DE form is an online application that should be diligently completed and submitted through the JAMB portal.

JAMB recognizes and accepts a wide range of twelve qualifications and certificates. Candidates can utilize a statement of result for registration purposes, provided it was awarded within the past three years. Furthermore, candidates awaiting A-level results have the option to upgrade from UTME to DE registration.

For the 2024/2025 session, the registration fee has been set at N3,500. Additional payments include N700 for the CBT Centre registration service charge, N1,500 for the CBT Centre service charge applicable to mock/UTME, and N500 for bank charges/commission. Candidates not taking the MOCK examination will pay a total of N6,200, while those opting for the MOCK examination will incur a fee of N7,700.

It is mandatory for candidates to possess a National Identification Number (NIN) before commencing the registration process. To create a JAMB profile, candidates need to send a text message with their NIN to 55019 or 66019, following the format “NIN [space] 11-digit NIN number.” Upon receiving a confirmation code, candidates can utilize it to log into the JAMB portal.

To obtain the JAMB e-PIN, candidates should visit any accredited bank, CBT Centre, or embassy (for candidates residing abroad) with their confirmation code and complete the necessary fee payment.

In the event of a lost profile code, candidates can retrieve it by sending the word “RESEND” to 55019 or 66019 from their registered cell phone number. Similarly, if the e-PIN is not received or misplaced, candidates can send “UTMEPIN” or “DEPIN” to 55019 or 66019, depending on the desired registration type, using their registered cell phone number.

Once the e-PIN is successfully obtained, candidates should proceed to any JAMB accredited CBT centre to complete the registration process.

Prospective candidates are strongly 90advised to carefully adhere to the provided registration guidelines and ensure they possess all the necessary documents and information required for a successful registration process.
