Youth Council Hosts Security Town Hall Meeting in Cross River Central, Championed by NYCN Chairman Comrade Dan Obo Jr

Ikom, Cross River State – The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Cross River State Central Senatorial District, is set to host a significant security town hall meeting that aims to address urgent concerns and promote collaboration between the youth and security agencies. Scheduled to take place at the Ikom Council Hall on January 25th, 2024, this event holds great importance in enhancing community resilience and ensuring the overall stability of the district and the state.

The meeting will witness the presence of key stakeholders and dignitaries, including the Governor of Cross River State, Sen Prince Bassey Otu, and his deputy, Rt Hon Peter Odey. Additionally, Sen Eteng Williams Jones, the Senator representing the central senatorial district, along with Hon Victor Abang (Mature), the Member representing Bok/Ikom Federal Constituency, and other members such as Hon Alex Ogbonna, who represents Obubra Etung Federal Constituency, will also be in attendance.

The primary objective of the security town hall meeting is to delve into the causes, effects, and potential solutions to the security challenges faced by the district. By establishing an effective information mechanism between the youth and security agencies, the event aims to facilitate the implementation of robust security measures.

The program will feature expert speakers who will provide valuable insights into current security trends and offer guidance on strengthening community resilience. The topics to be discussed include discouraging individuals from causing societal issues, preventing communal wars and bloodshed, promoting a peaceful approach over conflict, combating drug abuse and kidnapping, and fostering a culture of vigilance and reporting suspicious activities.

The National Youth Council of Nigeria strongly urges the participation of all youth, community youth leaders, ward councillors, and youth leaders from across the senatorial district.
