National Youth Council of Nigeria Organizes Security Summit in Cross River State
Ikom, Cross River State – The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) successfully organized a security summit in Ikom, Cross River State, bringing together notable security agencies and government representatives. The event aimed to address pressing security concerns and foster collaboration between the youth and security agencies.
The summit witnessed the participation of various esteemed security agencies, including the police, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), and the Civil Defence. Their presence highlighted the collective commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of the people.
Representing the Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, the special Adviser on security in the central senatorial district, Rt AIG John Abang, conveyed the governor’s unwavering support for initiatives that promote security and youth empowerment.
During his speech, Comrade Dan Obo Jr., the Chairman of NYCN Cross River State, emphasized the urgent need for the government to equip security agencies adequately. He stressed that well-equipped security forces are essential for effective operations and the fight against insecurity. Comrade Dan Obo Jr. further urged the security agencies to remain prepared at all times to tackle emerging security challenges.
In his address, the Chairman also called on the youth to confront and overcome the detrimental effects of godfatherism syndrome that hinder their progress. He encouraged them to channel their energy towards positive endeavors and contribute meaningfully to the development of the nation.
Responding to the concerns raised, the Governor emphasized the importance of youth entrepreneurship and empowerment. He assured the attendees that the government is actively working on schemes and initiatives that will provide support and add value to aspiring entrepreneurs. By promoting a culture of enterprise and innovation, the government aims to create a conducive environment for the youth to thrive and contribute to the nation’s progress.
