Renowned billionaire businessman Femi Otedola recently shared his excitement on social media about his comeback to the prestigious Forbes African Billionaires list after a seven-year absence. Taking to his Instagram page, he posted a snapshot of the announcement and captioned it with the words “Interesting” along with smiley and dollar emojis.
With a net worth of $1.1 billion, the 61-year-old entrepreneur currently holds the 20th position on the list. Forbes reported that the collective wealth of the 2024 list of 20 billionaires increased to $82.4 billion from last year’s $81.5 billion, partly due to Otedola’s impressive return. As the executive chairman of Geregu Power Plc and a former CEO of Forte Oil, Otedola’s business interests span across various sectors including energy, power generation, real estate, and shipping. Despite facing tough competition from multinational oil companies, his company has maintained its prominent position as a major player in Nigeria’s energy sector.
