Nura Otu Oshibu (Nura Whyte) writes from the forest hills of Bateriko, Eastern Boki Local Council of Cross River State.
Dear Nura Otu Oshibu,
I wish to congratulate you on this master piece exposition of Senate Asuquo Ekpenyong, there’s no doubt that his achievements speak for themselves, he has done well in many aspect of human and economic development in the state and I believe that he will do more. However, I wish to draw your attention to his health programmes which I am aware that he has organize a rubost medical outreach across the southern senatorial district but there was a conspicuous gap where he did not include Diabetes screening while the program last. Persons living with Diabetes are perishing due to astronomical price hike of insulin and other medications. An average person living with Diabetes spends over N150,000 every month passing through catastrophic out of pocket expenditures. Many can no longer afford the cost of treatment and have resort to cheaper alternatives to patronizing trado-medical drug vendors herbs, rationing their doses thereby increasing their risk to serious complications and avoidable deaths. One begins to wonder why the Diabetes component of the health outreach was excluded completely through out the program. I am an indegene of Boki LGA living with type 2 Diabetes and several others passing through untold. I am a card carrying member of the APC just like other eligible voters and task payer living with Diabetes have been left to our fate. We urge Senator Asuquo Ekpenyong to consider this underserved population of Cross River State by donating Diabetes screening materials and drugs to ameliorate our sufferings

He is a good representative, but he needs to take it easy in politics,we know politics is a showman afare.
He should learn to recognize due process before embarking on anything in the state since the Governor is the chief security officer in state.
He should also focus on his legislation duties, not taking other people duties to show case his achievements.
