The industrious youth of Ikom Local Government Area (LGA) have honoured Comr. Ekiewa Douglas Jr., Chairman of the Boki Youth Council, with the prestigious “Ambassador of Peace and Conflict Resolution” Award at the Ikom LGA Youth Council Awards Night. The award, inscribed with the title “Ambassador of Peace and Conflict Resolution,” recognises his remarkable impact in fostering peace and resolving conflicts, with a special focus on uplifting youth communities across our region in Cross River State.
Over the years, Comr. Ekiewa Douglas Jr. has demonstrated exceptional capacity, zeal, dedication, and passion in his conflict resolution efforts, employing effective methodologies that have positively influenced many conflict areas in our region. In recognition of his tireless work, the youth of Ikom LGA felt it was important to honour his contributions with this distinguished award, stated Comr. Kenneth Kajang, Chairman of the Ikom Youth Council and Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Youth Mobilisation, Chief of Staff’s Office, Calabar.
In his acceptance speech, Comr. Ekiewa Douglas Jr. expressed his gratitude to the youth of Ikom for this significant recognition.
He emphasised that this award has reaffirmed his belief that the modest efforts they are making in society are having a positive impact and are being acknowledged. “I will continue to choose the path of peace.
With this honour and the title of ‘Ambassador of Peace and Conflict Resolution,’ I pledge to fulfil my role as a worthy ambassador by the grace of God,” he said. “Thank you, and may God bless the youth of Ikom LGA for this honour.
