In a significant development, Betta Edu, the suspended minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, is set to face questioning at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday. President Bola Tinubu took the decision to suspend Edu and instructed the EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, to conduct a thorough investigation into all financial transactions involving the ministry and its associated agencies.
Edu’s suspension comes just six months into her tenure, following allegations of funds diversion intended for social development initiatives.
