Kampala, Uganda – The West African Secretariat of the Afro-Arab Youth Council (AAYC) has announced the appointment of Comrade Dan Obo Jr. as the Executive Director for Government Relations (Nigeria). This prestigious appointment is a testament to Comrade Obo’s outstanding leadership, track record in youth development, and commitment to fostering productive relationships between governments and the youth.
In his new role under the AAYC West African Secretariat, Comrade Obo will be responsible for:
1.Liaison Role: Facilitating communication and collaboration between AAYC (West Africa) and governments in Nigeria, as well as governmental bodies across the country.
2.Partnership Development: Establishing and nurturing productive partnerships with key government stakeholders to advance the key objectives of AAYC.
3.Strategic Planning: Contributing to the strategic direction of AAYC by providing insights on socio-governance trends, potential impact on youth, and solution initiatives.
4.Policy Advocacy: Contributing to AAYC advocacy efforts on policies and trends affecting youth, ensuring that their voices count in decision-making processes.
5. Programmes and Events: Co-organizing and participating in events, conferences, and meetings that advance AAYC’s mission and objectives.
Amb. Akoshile Mukhtar, the Regional Coordinator of AAYC’s West African region, expressed confidence in Comrade Obo’s vast experience and dedication, stating that this appointment is pivotal to actualizing the AAYC agenda across the communities it serves.
